BEYOND THE LENS: PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE AGE OF AI

12 October All day

Beyond the lens…
What does it mean to “see” in the age of Artificial Intelligence?
What is the boundary today between authenticity and simulation, reportage and imagination?
And, are we still able to set that boundary?

During One of the Bergamo Scienza events, in collaboration with the Fondazione Alfaparf, we will
focus on the relationship between AI and contemporary photography together with Filippo
Venturi, documentary photographer and visual artist. His work has been published in major
international publications and has been presented at museums and festivals, worldwide. Winner
of several awards, including the Sony World Photography Award, he was named FIAF
Photographer of the Year.

Besides his documentary work, he has developed a research of artificial intelligence, keeping it
separate from reportage but still considering it fertile ground for opening new imagery and ethical
questions. Through workshops, articles, and international exhibitions, he has helped define the
dialogue between photography and AI, exploring the boundary between reality and simulation,
tradition and innovation.
